Canby is a city in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,903 at the 2000 census. The town is named after Edward Canby, a General in the United States Army. Canby is also well-known for high school wrestling. Canby High School won the Minnesota State Team Championship in 1976, 1977, 1979, 1986, 1988, 1994, 1995, 2006.
