Cataldo is an unincorporated community in Kootenai and Shoshone counties in the U.S. state of Idaho. It is located at 47°32′56″N 116°19′47″W / 47.54889°N 116.32972°W / 47.54889; -116.32972 (47.5488066, -116.3296149), at an altitude of 2,139 feet (652 m). Its Shoshone County portion is the site of the Cataldo Mission, the first mission in the Northwest, which is a National Historic Landmark.

What is utilities law?

Public utilities provide electric, gas, water or telephone service to customers in a specified area. Utilities have a duty to provide safe and adequate service on reasonable terms to anyone who lives within the service area on without discriminating between customers. Because most utilities operate in near monopolistic conditions, they can be heavily regulated by local, state, and federal authorities. Generally, the local and state agencies are called Public Service Commissions (PSC) or Public Utility Commissions (PUC). Municipal Utilities and Rural Electric Cooperatives may be unregulated though.
