Harvey is a city in Wells County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 1,989 at the 2000 census. Harvey was founded in 1893 as a division point by the Soo Line Railway. According to the book published in 1981 on the 75th anniversary of the town's incorporation as a city in 1906, Harvey, ND is believed to have been named for a director of the Soo Line Railway: Col. Scott William Harvey of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
